Non-members are welcome to join us anytime between June 14th – August 21st, by appointment only.

You can choose from 6 Poekie Nook Crafting Camps. In addition, we are collaborating with our neighbors for 3 additional camps:

Poekie Nook Camps:
• Poekie Nook summer crafting camps are Mon-Fri, 10am to 4pm
• (Free drop-in after camp for members registered for the camp)
• Please bring a lunch. Lunch is 12:30-1:00pm daily.
House Building (Two weeks to choose from)
Build a home for your Poekies! We take two days to sew Poekies and an apron, and design your house. Then we start building with fabrics, cardboard, beads, trims and other treasures from our fabric room.Younger children (age 6-7) will make small and sweet apartments, while older ones will build complete houses. Everyone loves this camp, so sign up now.

Career Camp
Sew a Poekie and create a career for it. You will build your own scene, creating their work place and sew an outfit typically worn. Use your imagination to create their own little world. In the photo, we see Simon (a quail), an Artist in his studio.
Age 8 and up or with prior Poekie crafting experience,

Endangered Species
Choose an animal that’s endangered and sew a (customized) Poekie of it. We’ll help you re- search, write and make a beautiful book about it, and then we’ll design and build a cozy habitat for your endangered Poekie; replicating their real-life home. Age 8 and up, you must be on “first shelf” level. Before camp starts, we’ll email a list of animals so you can choose your favorite to make in the camp!
Parents and kids alike love this camp. There’s a sense of camaraderie in the group as we learn about the plight of many different animals and what we can do to save them. We use only high quality materials in this class and create an experience which will have a lasting value.

Multi-media art week
We are offering an exciting experience for your child to learn many types of art forms which includes: Oil painting on canvas, Japanese rice paper painting, Clay work, The ancient art of Calligraphy using brush and ink on rice paper, while learning to write basic Mandarin and Japanese, Paper mache sculpting, learn to Weave and lastly, have some fun with Fuse beads. Wow, they will learn so much and have an amazing time!
Age 6 and up

Paper Mache hot air balloon
Create a paper mache hot air balloon and weave your own basket from colorful yarn. Time permitting, sew a sweet stuffy to take its maiden voyage..up, up and away!
