Here are the photos of the Ghost of the Dragon Play
With comments by Poekie
It is two days before Halloween. Crow Girl is cawing on the church steeple, the undertaker is digging a new grave, fog is pouring in.
All the Poekies are gathered to finish their costumes. On Halloween, there will be a parade before they go trick-or-treating.
Bartholomew the dragon comes to the party. He is in his angel costume. He has a birthmark under his chin, it is a blooddrop that never goes away.
The Poekie laugh, because how can you be an angel with a blooddrop hanging from your chin? But Bartholomew loves his blooddrop, it is HIS blooddrop.
Confused, he goes home and tries to see his blooddrop in the mirror. Crow Girl swoops down and tells him that Dr. Dynomite can pop it off in a jiffy. She knows him well and his black cat too.
The next morning she brings him to Dr. D, who is an old, and very forgetful, triceratops.
After Bartholomew is given a sleepy shot, Crow Girl gets into a fight with the doctor’s black cat. They make a mess out of Dr. D’s house, and while he cleans it up, he forgets all about Bartholomew.
When Dr. D is done, he finds Bartholomew, and forgetting that he put him to sleep to remove the blooddrop, he thinks Bartholomew is dead. The undertaker is called. The dragon will have to lay sideways in the coffin because of his big snout.
After they burry Bartholomew, the pastor tells everyone to go home and to bed. There may not be a parade tomorrow…
In the middle of the night, Bartholomew rises as a ghost out of the grave.
Crow Girl tells him that he is dreaming, he is just asleep and not dead. She says they should go to Dr. Dynomite to remind him to wake up Bartholomew.
But Bartholomew is angry with his friends for laughing at his blooddrop.
So the ghost and Crow Girl go around town, scaring all the Poekies.
Afterwards, Crow Girl sends the ghost back to the grave and wakes up Dr. D to remind him of his mistake.
Dr. D, joined by all the Poekies, wakes up Bartholomew. He asks Bartholomew if he would still like to have his blooddrop removed.
Bartholomew refuses, after all, it is HIS blooddrop and he LOVES his blooddrop! He just wants to go to sleep in his own bed now.
The next day, at the Halloween parade, everyone agrees, Bartholomew is a pretty angel and they love his blooddrop too!
Halloween night comes as it should come, scary and fun at the same time. THE END.
Our excellent lighting and special effects crew, working behind the scenes. Our fog-technician was hidden by fog, and our stage hand was too busy for a picture.
